GSROC Children's Art Contest

Hi everyone.
My daughter Sandra, who is in 1st grade, entered an art contest for the German Shepherd Rescue Center of Orange County. Today voting starts. The dog she chose to draw is named Jessie (who just had 2 puppies!) and the theme she chose is - Be kind to animals. These are two things I really want to encourage in her; love of art and being kind to animals.

Shabby Apple Gatsby Giveaway!

In honor of the new Great Gatsby film coming out, Shabby Apple is hosting a giveaway.  They are giving away their Tambourin skirt (a tiered fringe skirt in silver grey which is reminiscent of the flapper styles of the 1920's)  and a $25 Fandango gift card to go see the film!

I read the Great Gatsby book by F. Scott Fitzgerald back in school, and I saw the 1974 film with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, so I am eager to see the new film version coming out.  How true will it be to the book and how will it differ from the 1974 film?  And I can't wait to see all the glorious flapper fashions!
