Do You Need A Second Closet?

Not enough space for your shoe collection?  Do you wish you had a second closet?  Try  makespace.com!  They will take your extra stuff and store it for you, then bring it back when you need it again.  How amazing is that?  Check out their locations.

I know I'm not alone in the constant struggle for closet space.  I especially feel it when the seasons change.  Right now it is still really hot in Southern California, so we are still wearing our summer clothes. But I am longing for a cool down, and the chance to wear  some of my Fall outfits.  Luckily my sister has invited me to visit her in San Francisco.  I'm so excited to get the chance to buy a real winter jacket, some new sweaters and some boots.  Since we plan on doing a lot of walking and sight-seeing, I have my eye on something stylish yet comfy like the Carter Suede Ankle Booties by Coach, or the Elisabeth Shooties by Naturalizer.  My third option are the INC International Concepts Laini block-Heel Booties.  Ok, so the third option does have a higher heel, and I'm not sure how much walking I'll be able to do in them , but hey, they are super cute!!

It would be great to not have to limit ourselves.  Have one closet for Spring/Summer and a second for Fall/Winter!

Fashion Sketchbook of the Emmys

I love to watch who walks down the red carpet at all the award shows, although I don't always have the time to see it.  Last week I made a point of checking out the amazing gowns that graced the Emmys.  I haven't pulled out my sketchbook for ages.  I thought maybe this would be a good time for it.

Here's my interpretation of Olivia Culpo's snowball dress by Zac Posen.  She really looked lovely with her mauve lips, silver sandals and this semisheer strapless gown.

I've painted a couple more dresses, but haven't photographed them yet.  Hopefully I can squeeze in a photo session a little later in the week.  Stay tuned for another peek into my fashion sketchbook...

Fashion Sketch of Gray Jeans, Red Heels and Gucci Bag

Ok, so I was supposed to be working on about 3 other things right now, but this loose little fashion sketch popped out instead.  I caught site of this super cute Gucci bag with hearts and I really want one.  Definitely not in the budget, so I painted it instead.

Have a stylish day everybody!

Camel Coat Fashion Sketch and Chic Wall Art

I really don't know what prompted me to make this little loose fashion sketch of winter clothes  in this heat wave we are experiencing in Southern California.  I guess I am starting to get into the "Back To School" mode.  I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

Somehow a really nice camel coat and stylish boots must be in the back of my mind somewhere for this little sketch to come forth.  Or it might be wishful thinking. Hoping for cooler temperatures!

Hope you are cooler wherever you are:)

Midnight Lace Dolce & Gabbana Inspired Fashion Illustration

This watercolor fashion illustration was inspired by a Dolce & Gabbana dress.  I added the little red heart purse for fun.  I liked the way the waist is sort of like a corset and the 1950's flare to the skirt really adds a vintage feel to this dress.

Turquoise Glitter And Gold Sparkly Shoe Greeting Cards

Add a little glitter and gold paint to make a hand-painted card for a friend really sparkle!

On this piece I used FolkArt Metallic Inca Gold Acrylic Paint. It's a fresh "happy" kind of gold.

After I painted the image on the greeting card, I used a craft brush to paint on some Martha Stewart Glittering Glue in the area where I want the glitter.  Then before it dries completely, I sprinkle a little Recollections Glitter.  Shake off the excess, and there you have it!  Of course, expect to be sparkly yourself for the next couple of days.  It is hard to control glitter, it just gets everywhere!

Pink Gingham Fashion Illustration Print

Just in time for summer, a pretty pink gingham dress!  This was the first time I used my new Angled Sapphire 3/8" Robert Simmons Watercolor Brush.  I always use round brushes.  But I really liked using this angled brush.  It covered a lot of area in a short amount of time.

The Cutest Little Camera Bag Disguised As a Bowling Bag/Purse!

I finally broke down and bought a real camera (Canon EOS Rebel T5).  Well, as real as I can get on my budget.  What a difference!  I'm very happy with it.  However, it is bulkier then the little point and shoot that I previously had.  I suddenly realized, I need a camera bag.  I started looking around for one and was a little sad at the prospect of a bulky and unstylish camera bag.

Then I came across a photo of this cute Red Camera bag that looked like a bowling bag/handbag!  So excited!! Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on it.  As far as I could tell, it is only sold in England and no longer shipping to the U.S.

Acme Made The Bowler DSLR Camera Handbag

Although I wasn't able to purchase this really fun Acme bag, I did find something similar.  It still has the bowling bag shape and can also pass as a handbag.  It comes in a couple of different colors; white with black handles, red with black handles, and black with black handles.

Fujifilm 2011 Bowler Bag For Camera

This Fujifilm Bowler bag is sold on Amazon for between $26.65 - $17.95.  And although it is listed as a Dark Blue, mine seems more black then blue.  And it came with a white shoulder strap.  Great deal, huh?

The bag is small, but there is plenty of room for my camera, the charger, cord and manual.  Or you could use that extra space for your phone and wallet or an extra lens.  There are two outside pockets with velcro to store keys etc. in.  The divider is on velcro so you can adjust it.

From A Simple Sketch To Printed Artwork

The little doodle that started it all!  Most of my paintings start out as a little doodle.  The challenge is to keep that spontaneity and translate it into the final painting.

Working on the “P.S. I Love You” artwork.  When hand lettering, it sometimes takes a couple of tries to get it just the way I want it.
