Three women devise a plan to set a "bear trap" for eligible millionaires. But these ladies don't want sugar daddies, they want marriage. They pool all their money to rent the "bear trap", which is a luxurious furnished Sutton Place penthouse in New York City.
From the very first time I saw this movie, I was entranced with this apartment. The retro furniture, the spacious layout, and full wall of french doors make this a truly stylish headquarters for "Operation Millionaire Hunt".
As the movie progresses, and the ladies are having no luck finding even one millionaire, they start to pawn the furniture to stay in the apartment.
Even the patio furniture disappears!
When they are down to their last chair, Betty Grable shows up with a millionaire she found at the mink department at Bergdorf's. Wedding bells anyone?
And yes, they do throw a cool wedding in that penthouse after the obliging millionaire buys back all the furniture for them. Alas, it is not to be. All three marry for love in the end!
I haven't seen this! I'll have to make the hubby watch it some night :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite vintage movies!! I love it!
